I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
