Currently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This represents his first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from that period of that year.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.

But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an better service.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the final five points to take the lead.

Both players exchanged breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to push for a final set.

He rescued 4 initial chances in a tight third set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
